Speaking of rain. I wussed out last year and only did a lap or two during the rain-race. Not gonna happen this year. Staying out there no matter what. Hopefully I'll have rain tires on during the rain session, rather than dry's like last year.

Willow doesn't require a race license to test but maybe they should.

I don't think passengers are allowed on the Friday test days at WS so you may not be able to have anyone ride along to show you the track even if you and your car are allowed to run. It is a very different track than Streets anyway.

That's correct. Passengers are not allowed.

Even with rain tires it's a high risk low reward situation, in my opinion, to hit the track in wet conditions. The risk is magnified with a high power car.

I saw it first hand last year when a fully race prepped BMW M3 lost it in the chicane coming out of the hairpin heading toward the overpass.

The guy was all over me in the banking on the second lap so I waved him by just before turn 3 knowing he was pushing it given the conditions. When we got to the chicane mentioned above his torque coming out sent him around to the left and practically head first into the wall. He hit so hard that he spun around and hit the rear of the car on the same wall. His toy was totaled. Wish I had the video to share.

Hopefully rain won't be an issue this year. If it is I'll be sitting it out.

Friday Test - Tune

Postby Rsylvestri on Wed Mar 22, 2006 7:01 am

Thanks for help guys,

Looks like I'll go up Friday afternoon and check out the action (from the pits) and gain the experience with an instructor in my car at the Streets TT.

FYI

Postby Rsylvestri on Thu Mar 23, 2006 6:19 pm

Just booked @ Inn of Lancaster for the TT at Streets and they have 2-3 rooms left for the April 21st (Friday) thru 22nd.
I had to take a 2-queen bed smoking suite (a buddy might go) and they had 1-single left.
Hurry......
