It appears that the USA will only get a "dumbed-down," non-Clubsport, version again, without the roll cage, CGT carbon fiber seats, and lexan rear window, due to DOT/NHSTA regs. :x

That is a shame but even this dumbed down GT3RS will be the hottest car Porsche has brought here in ages. As long as it still carries the carbon fiber and composite bodywork and the wide body track with the lower weight then you can always add roll bars and seats. I can't understand why the DOT/NHTSA has such problems with these devices and lexan windows.

My understanding is that it is not that DOT has a specific problem with these devices, it is simply that the manufacturers have not gone through the requisite approval process, which typically includes crash testing several vehicles. For such a low volume model, this simply is not economical.

I think this could be the best Porsche ever built. (If you are in Europe)

(For us) That's an expensive "GT3RS" decal. What's the point importing the GT3RS when they remove all the "RS" parts from it? :?:

This is almost as bad as when Porsche came up the idea of an "RS America" which was very different from the "N/GT 964RS". I hope at least this time they will keep the chassis and the suspension.
