You're going to have to draw me a picture (in crayon) for me to "get" what that means. :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

Yah- keep accurate times for everybody AND count penalty cones. There's really no way of knowing whether a run was clean or not the way we did it that day. Cornerworkers were not keeping track of who hit cones and no one was announcing them, so looking at the clock alone when someone crossed the line was futile, without any way to tell if their run was clean, or if they straight-lined the slalom, etc.

Of course all my runs WERE clean and I NEVER hit any cones, myself.

No worries, Curt. I've been to two or three of their autocrosses in the last few years with my AM 911 and beat all the BMWs every time. :D

Sentence 1: The BMW drivers were polite, played by our rules, put up with bad BMW jokes during the driver's meeting and track walk, didn't gloat when they were faster than us, and then thanked us for inviting them.

Sentence 2: I was under the (perhaps mistaken) impression that the clubs of other marques spent more time working on their cars than driving. The BMWs had no more problems than the Porsches. Unlike the Hondas at the last DE that were lucky if they could complete two laps before blowing up...

So you meant what you wrote literally? No sarcasm, double entendres, double talk anywhere? Wow..... I'm not used to that on this forum :D .... or any other that I take part in :D

Thanks for the explanation.

Dang Tom, it's too bad you sold that AM car. AM would be pretty interesting with 5 RS look cars all duking it out against each other. We just don't worry about the times of any of the former HM "Zone 8 oversight/loophole" cars that don't belong in our class. :D

I haven't sold it yet, Curt, I just quit time-trialing it the season before last, so you haven't seen it lately. I have run it in 4 autocrosses this year, getting my a$$ handed to me by the Kinninger car, not to mention John Straub, who has gotten his 914-6 going very well this year. I haven't been running slicks on it anymore, though, for cost reasons, so it is not as fast as it was, but it's still a top-10 car pretty consistently, even with the uprated competition this year.

When I get my 911R-look car done, I am going to have to choose one to sell, though, because for some reason, my wife doesn't quite understand why a guy needs three 911s. :?
