Another GREAT Performance Driving School!!!

Postby AGill on Mon Oct 07, 2013 10:03 am

Congratulations to all the students who participated in this weekend's Performance Driving School. What a great bunch, everyone was eager to learn and it showed in the progress that everyone made by the end of each day.

The CDI team would like to thank all the instructors and volunteers that helped make this past weekend the success that it was. We'd also like to thank our sponsor, Black Forest, for their continued support and hosting the Friday Night Chalk Talk.

On a personal note, this was my last PDS as part of the CDI team and it was a great one to end on! It has been an absolute pleasure to work with such an amazing group of people. Also, I'd like to thank my fellow CDIs, Bill Behun and Chuck Sharp for their hard work, great teamwork and helping to keep things fun.

Again, thanks to all that made this such a great event and I hope to see many of you students at future events

Adam and Team,

What a fantastic weekend this was! The exercises were fun and enlightening and the autocross even more so. Additionally I feel like I know my car so much better now than I did before and while I have got some ways to go before I consider myself 'skilled', the application of Saturday's technique, to Sunday's driving made a huge difference to the 2nd Autocross session in particular. A big thanks to the instructors too for this!

In terms of improving the event, I think that there is very little that you could do to make it better. One thought would have been to perhaps time the 2nd Autocross session on Sunday. My 'butt-timer' felt like I was getting better towards the end of the session, but it would have been nice to see what the application of good technique did to my time on a clock. Again - that's just a nitpick rather than a true complaint, and I get that a focus on lap times could have been distracting. The real measure of success will be attending the next Autocross event.

Thanks to all of the organizers for a fabulous weekend of driving! Not even my stupid bout of back pain could spoil the fun!
