Tired of driving across country for the last several years, looking into shipping my 2014 BMW 5 series. Any wisdom or recommendations? Enclosed preferred, but this not the 997 so maybe open is OK? Welcome advice etc. on companies and experience. Thanks.

Lots of people like Intercity. I haven't used them personally. We have used Uship.com a couple of times successfully: moving a 993 from NY to CA and a trailer from TX to CA. Worked good for us both times but it's a service where different shippers bid for the job, and you choose who gets it. There are some sketchy transporters out there so choose wisely.

Ive used Intercity for my 944T from NY to SD over the summer. They were great to work with, very courteous driver that called me every few days to keep me updated on his ETA. Took 7 days coast to coast, cost was about $2300. Mostly all the enclosed carriers i looked at were within a hundred bucks or so; i checked with Plycon and one other that escapes my mind.
