Results Error ???

Postby martinreinhardt on Sun Jul 02, 2006 2:22 pm

Thank you for posting the results so quickly.

Jennifer wishes that the her time was 1:11:15 and 9th TTOD  . She is good, but not good enough to beat my times yet.

Something is wrong with the times!!! She wants it to be corrected to her best run which was: 1:16:86 and wants to exchange her yellow ribbon with a red one like I've been bringing home recently.

It also appears that some people are in the wrong classes or moved classes for that event.

Can someone please correct the time? Thanks

Erik ran the shop boxter from Mind Over in LP and that worked out pretty good for me.

Update your bookmarks to "www.pcasdr.org", with the leading "www". The pages @ "pcasdr.org" appear to be an obsolete beta.

Martin,

I know you are correct that something is wrong with the times. My first run is listed as my second run with 2 cones. The second run is lost somewhere with no cones and I don't know where the 83.78 came from listed as my first run.

I'll see what I can do for getting the errors corrected. The trailer can be a VERY crazy place during timed runs. Sometime human error is to blame, other times we get erroneous trips of the lights and sometimes drivers are to blame. Many, many things have been done to improve all situations over the years, but sometimes stuff happens. I had to manually correct at least three erroneous times during the event clean-up, obviously I missed a couple. I'll see if we can get some corrections made.

Everyone can assist the trailer during timing. The most common issues are:
- People standing in front of the trailer impeding our vision
- Miss classified cars
- Dual driver cars with the incorrect numbers displayed
- Unrecognizable numbers
- Late cars for the run group

I wasnt sure what the *rules* are for the events, but I signed up in CS class running a 2.0 914 and was "forced" to run in the LP class with a 2.0 914.

I may end up running 5 different cars over the course of a year. What do I do about this? I dont really care about the end of year "points". If I think I'm going to screw up somebody's class points for the year, I wont run that weekend. I thought I would be OK in CS because you only have 1-2 cars competing in that class right now (that show up)

Help?

I just want to be clear on what I'm *supposed* to do in cases like this.

It seems like the X class fits the bill: time only, no points:

X (Exhibition only) 924GT, 924GTS, 911RSR, Carrera GT & other factory race cars and exotics. No points or trophies are awarded in this class. This is a class for those who want to have fun running their car but do not want to interfere with other participants' effort to win points or awards. This class includes non-Porsche cars.

That's why I have only run two times this year. I want to let those guys in AM have a fair shot at year end awards

Thanks Kris!

I'm worried that the same thing will happen next time: I put down X and they place me in LP.

I'll have a 1600lb specifically designed AutoX 914 for next year that will end up in X also. Then I can chase Kinnigers TTOD..LOL

Your class is automatically loaded in the system, so just writing it on the form doesn't work. If you change classes, go to the trailer and tell them. That is why they ask you to check you class every event before timed runs (they always post it on the trailer) and then you could fix it before the results are screwed up.

This is partly why my dad has one of those VERY early production 1988 Boxsters

Sorry. I *thought* the reason why we had a place on the form was so someone would read it. My bad. Image

I didnt honestly care at this last event. It would have caused some issues away from the event if I had finished second in CS Image

You are correct, there is a place on the form to indicate car class. The pre-reg team does its best to thoroughly read and process the 90+ forms that arrive prior to each event, making any changes that we find. We are not perfect. This is why I beg/plead/beseech/cajole and otherwise implore folks to stop by the trailer to double check their car classifications prior to the timed runs. On behalf of the team, I apologize if your change was missed.

No need to apologize. We do this for fun. I have had to register cars for ALMS and Grand Am events in the past. This is a cake walk :) The answer is for me to run in "X".
