2006 Time Trial Dates Announcement

Postby Robert on Tue Nov 15, 2005 9:22 pm

On behalf of Jack Miller, I’m happy to announce the bulk of the dates for the 2006 PCASDR Time Trial Series:

January 21-22 Willow Springs (big track)
March 24-26 California Speedway
April 22-23 Streets of Willow
September 30-October 1 Spring Mountain Motorsports Ranch

As you can see, we have AWESOME Willow dates this year (no more 110 degrees in the shade like ‘05). Let’s get a good turnout for these to take advantage of that. Start planning and car prep NOW. We’re still working on Buttonwillow and will post here as soon as we have that date. Thanks and we look forward to seeing you all at the track starting in January.

That's really a bummer that we had to do The Streets the same week-end that POC is on the big track  . As a new POC Club Racer, I have to do the POC event, but I would far prefer to be with PCA at The Streets. Are there no other slots available to us for The Streets?

How is that a conflict? Same location, takes all of 30 seconds to get from one track the other. Just bring lots of gas and tires. Problem solved.

At this point we likely need to keep the dates we've got. BTW, the Willow (big track and Streets) and Spring Mountain dates are permanent, meaning we will have the same weekend every year going forward. So do like Jack and break out your 30 year calendar and circle 'em all up now (he's already planning his 80th birthday celebration around track dates several decades from now).

The one thing we can do is offer some type of reduced entry fee for drivers doing both POC and PCA same-weekend/same-facility events, based upon the estimated proportion of time missed at our event (for Fontana, this will only cover timed runs because the daily schedules don't conflict). We'll announce details on that in the future but bottom line is it will be fair so that you won't have to pay for time you can't use.

Robert, Jack and the TT Team:

Awesome! Great venues, at great times of the year, and a nice balance of speed and technical challenges! I'm definitely hoping and planning for more "away" events in 2006. Buttonwillow will be the icing on the cake, if it happens! (Of course, it would be nice if it wasn't in August.... )

Thanks, guys!
