My wife bought me the entire series on DVD for Christmas (sans the Ferrari DVD that is on backorder) :D . Although I have seen them all at least once, or twice, or more on Speedvision, if you like the series, buy the DVD. Quite a bit longer plus sound is better, plus widescreen.

The Porsche DVD has quite a few clips not seen on the broadcast version (that I recall). Two of which show Alain De Cadenet absolutely frying the tires off the RUF Yellowbird and putting the car into a high speed drift to the point it smokes the outside rear all the way around the turn. He does more or less the same on a shorter clip toward the end on a RUF 996 Turbo. Pretty good driving, to say the least! Not something I would have thought you could do on asphalt with a 911 Turbo, especially an older one!.Kind of makes my driving skills look pretty feeble! :

Mike, You sure that wasn't "Sideways Stefan" at the Nurburgring? No helmet, no suit, no gloves, just trusting his own talent! There's a video called Fascination on the Nurburgring that showcases the Ruf Yellow bird turbo. I think I have it somewhere.........

Yes I have a video of two laps of varying angles from helicopters, inside the car and outside the car. No glove, no helmet, no suit, maybe some sun glasses....boy does that guy drive!!!!

I am pretty sure it is De Cadenet as there is a shot from inside the car. However, no helmet, no gloves, etc. If you watch the series, he drives a lot of the cars pretty damn fast with just a pair of goggles, or maybe a 50' s style helmet. That is having confidence in your driving abilities.

You may have noticed that I was NOT drawn into the pre-TT smack talk initiated by the short, sometimes obnoxious, cigar smoking driver of the other yellow car!

Mike, I cannot for the life of me identify who you are talking about :) I am sure the cigar smoker will stand up and be counted soon. I heard somewhere that this person has some predictions........hhmmmmmm....
