willow springs warm up

On January 18th there is an open track day at WSIR. The cost is $145.00 and includes lunch, a shirt and 2.5 hours of track time. The last I heard there were only 16 entries which means it will be very open with as much time on the track as you desire.

Although this is my first event with this group, I have a couple of friends who run with them and tell me everything is very organized and safe.

Since I have never been at this track I thought it would be a great way to learn the track prior to the upcoming TT

If interested check out the site @ WWW.opentrackracing.com

It is also $150 for your annual card for open track days, so $300 is closer.

The annual $150 at WSIR is so you can drive on testing days. Wednesday the 18th is being run by opentrackracing so it's only $145.

A few of us from SDR PCA did the December OTR event at Big Willow. Here is a thread of our "Porsche/office X-mass party".

I'd say if is your first time then you will enjoy the classroom and on track instruction.
They provide a pretty good free bbq lunch.
When entries have been low OTR will cancel events. So if they do you could fall back on the track's Friday test day.

IF you don't need the OTR instruction I would prefer the Friday program. It will save you a trip if combined with the SDR TT weekend. Also on Fridays you can go out any time you like. Jae Lee and a couple others are planning to be out there the Friday before the TT.

I'm not interested in the classroom or instruction, as I have run a few other TT events with PCA-SDR and just received my permit. I just have not run this track so I thought it would be fun to have some extra track time.

I'm actually taking a couple of clients out who have new Porsche's which is how I got involved in the first place.

What would i need to do to participate on Friday, if this day gets cancelled?

I didn't intend for it to sound like that  I have watched this forum and have always tried to stay away from the smack talking, and just as I was about to respond with something clever...I noticed your City was listed as "surf city". Being as I just moved to HB last month. I have decided to not respond with something witty, but allow you this pass in hopes of being allowed a entrance into the "OC" club 8)
