Voided manufacturer warranty on cars

Postby kary on Fri Jul 02, 2004 11:23 pm

Thought this was an interesting article. Hope this does not become a trend for Porsche's that are still under warranty!

Apparently it already is the trend, according to the quote in the article. The good news is that if you drive your car properly, it won't break. If something else goes wrong that is not related to track/autocross use, there's no way they can tell that you've had the car on the track.

(Unless Chris Huck tells the service dept. he saw you at Willow! )

Old Porsche don't break...

Postby gulf911 on Tue Jul 06, 2004 4:30 pm

I find it amazing how many new cars can't take an AX, I drove my 73 911E for 5 years, hard, and Mick Rosen had it before me, for about 3 years, same motor, trans, clutch. If you don't want people to use it as a sports car don't advertise it as one....

They are talking about this at the Parade. I'll tell you more when we get back.

It seems the word at the Parade is, if you don't tell, they don't ask.
And so far, there has only been one car, that has really been turned down. However that could all change, if the cars are being abused.

Nothing has changed

Furthermore, nothing has changed, the quote was about a line in the warranty that has been there for years and years. There has not been a change.
