Sounds like I missed out on a another great Jack and Robert coordinated TT event last weekend. I wish I could have made it out to join in on the fun, but my car caught a real bad cold over the winter and was at the doctors office all week, but not heathly enough to make it out.
Congrats to John Payne on TTOD, Sounds like the Killer Bee was flying fast and putting the sting on everyone!

Yes Congrats John.
He had an intense heat cycle tire management program Friday.
I think he said he changed 24 rims on Friday?
A well deserved win!

I stuck around long enough to see a posting of the top times in chronological order and I swore I thought I saw that Chris O' donnell was TTOD with something like a :26.6...??
I know John won his class as I was standing right next to him upon his realization of that fact....but I must have not rerad correctly or there was a re-posting of the top times after I left???

John,
Congradulations. Good drive. Speaking of tires, I was wondering if the the guy at the tire shop was going to mount you on the rim!
Not that this would have made any difference in my time, but during the last practice event I lost a good deal of coolant. As the timed run was being called, I hurriedly (and stupidly) added a qt or so of antifreeze to the overflow tank. Forgetting that my coolant had been blowing out of the overflow discharge line all day. Made turn 9 real! interesting with anti freeze blowing out on my left rear tire. Hope that it did not effect anyone elses time. My appologies if it did.

24 sets of tires, how did John fit all those into his trailer ??
I also heard that Mike V. and Mike G. did well too, I sure would have liked to have been out there. I'm taking my car to the Dyno shop this week after having the entire fuel system re-built. A caution to all you Turbo guys like me, avoid water contamination !!!!, it does a real number on the fuel injection system !

I think it depends how you look at X class cars like Chris O'Donnel. He had the fastest time of the day, but is running exhibition class.
John Payne had the fastest time of classified cars
What constitutes TTOD

Can it be TTOD if you have to qualify it?

TTOD should be TTOD period. What's next, pass/fail without recorded times??? After all, we wouldn't want to hurt anyone's feelings. Say it aint so....
Great run-times Chris and John. Now I'm really pissed my truck broke....

I would think that an "X" car that paid the same entry fee as every other car has the same rights to TTOD as any other car...especially if it is another Porsche.
'X' is just a letter... the car that got TTOD is still a Porsche.
Edit: as an after thought, X is a classification as well. The type car John is driving is no more streetable than Chris O'donnell's car. Both are beautifull and wicked fast. I can't grasp how John's car is a more valid and "correct" platform than Chris's 911 hot rod. Only difference is that John's car has (or used to have..) a V.I.N.

The results database does not distinguish between X or other classes for top time of day. The BRI on the other had has a severe penalty for X class cars!

Great discussions regarding TTOD, look what I started !!!
Bottom line, I feel very much inclined to agree with everyone's comments, all good valid comments. How's that for being politically correct !!
My only regret is that I wasn't out there to participate in all the fun. I'm looking forward to Fontana, my *** is getting rusty !!
