I saw a thread some place (here, renn or pelican) and can't find it. Where the guy who wrecked his 356 in Palm Springs had it redone in TJ. I have a 73' VW Bus I need done and wondered if anyone had the name of that shop or saw that thread. I would not usually use a shop there, but the pictures of the work looked great.

Interesting. My son has a '68 912 he was considering restoring, but it just doesn't "pencil out" with having the body and paint work done here. But, a 75% Tijuana discount makes it workable.
I don't think he was looking for a "concours" level restoration. Can anyone provide feedback on what level the work at Los Ponchos is for restoration?

I hate to admit that I'm the guilty person. I wrecked my car at Palm Springs and was determined to save it and race again. 356's must last forever!
The shop is:
Garage "Los Panchos"
Av. Ocampo y 3ra.
Tijuana, B.C.
phone: USA 01152

I had my '69 Mustang restored in TJ. It took them about 3 months to do but they removed all the rust took it down to bare metal and painted it with a lead based paint that still looks great 5 years later. They also did the interior seats and headliner. 1/4th of the price of a US shop and really impressive quality. The place I had my work done was Garage Leyeva dont have info off hand but definately worth a look. When I first went in they had a new 7 series, several camaros, an older mustang mach 1, and a bunch of newer cars so it seemed like a pretty reputable shop.
