I need a GREAT Body Shop in SD!

The unthinkable has happened... I waited my entire life to get my first Porsche: 1981 SC Targa, low miles, bought from a friend anal enough to record every single fill-up over the past five years.

Things were pristine for those 3 months...until last Saturday night when a woman decided to make an illegal u-turn in front of me. I almost managed to stop (great Porsche brakes), but contact was unavoidable. I T-boned her at about 10-15 mph, which was fast enough to slide all the toppings off of the Bronx Pizza I had next to me... and ruin my bumper, fog lights, and right headlamp.

Short story long... anybody know a great body shop?

Thanks
Damon

I would give Ryan a call at West Coast Specialties at (858) 549-8226. They repaired my 993 after I "backed" into a concrete pole. They did a great job.

Another great "club" resource is Greg Palmer at Malibu Autobody. 858.279.6404
Shop around for the best price and timeliness. :D

And don't forget a favorite of many members, Phil Thearle's
Autowerks in Santee, 619-449-0111. Some folks won't go anywhere else, and although I've been lucky enough not to need a body shop (knock on wood), I've seen some of their work, and have always been really impressed.

Bummer about the pizza! Hope you could still eat it. :D

Seriously, though, I would add a recommendation for Derek Stone at La Mesa Paint & Body (461-0213). He's helped me out a lot in the past and is a straight shooter, PCA member, has worked on 356, 914, 911, and almost every other kind of car.

I have had my Porsche in West Coast twice (including replacing most all of the rear suspension, bumper, exhaust, even trans housing after an "off-track excursion") and they did an outstanding job both times - the car is at least as good as new.

They also did nice work on my wife's Mercedes.

I would trust them with any mechanical or body work. They get most (all?) of the work from Pioneer Centres and have fixed up some pretty thrashed Porsches.
