Hi all,

I know this topic has come up before, but I've not needed the info until now. My Infiniti G35 coupe got a little banged up by a kid driving mommy's Lexus SUV yesterday. So I need the name and contact info for a really good body shop in the area. I live in Carmel Valley, so a good one in this area would be best.

I would recommend West Coast Specialties in Miramar. Ask for Ryan. They mainly work on high end cars and do very good job.
He repaired my 993 after my kissing the wall at Fontana

Paul, where's the damage? If it's just the front/rear bumper assemblies, you might contact a specialist company we've Tech Sessioned .... I think they're called BumperMedic, or BumperMagic, or something?

Not to discount West Coast .... they are one of the best in town, and somewhat close to you in Miramar, however, they are very busy (Lots of Cayennes and X5's in there!) and I don't know what the turn-around time might be. For quality they are very very good. I believe Pioneer sends many of their "stackers" there for repair.

There's also Phil Thearle's out in Santee. Very very good shop that does lots of members' high-end cars, but a bit farther away from you.

Sorry to hear of the "ouch" on your Nissan - I mean - Infinity. Good luck with it.

The damage is on the front driver's side fender (needs replacing) and the driver's side corner of the front bumper (plastic, crunched, also will need replacing). Also, the running light embedded in the bumper will need to be replaced and the driver's side mirror will need to be either repainted or just cleaned up (a bit of white paint on it from the other car).

I doubt any amount of magic on the bumper will put it right.

I plan to contact West Coast on Monday morning.

I didn't know the driving schools around town were teaching the "Braille" method of SUV handling. surely, I'll be watching my mirrors more, and giving more space to the drivers in front of me.

I have also used West Coast - twice for the Boxster (the, um, off-track excursion at the Q, and a nasty rear fender scrape from a valet [varlet?] parking attendant) and also for our old Mercedes. All work was done perfectly - years later everything still looks like new. FYI - AAA signed off on their fees without question.

For plastic bumper stuff, I would recommend Bumpers2Dents (3747 Convoy) - Pioneer recommended them and they did a great job on our BMW, then fixed up a shopping cart ding on the Boxster for only $60.
