Stickers Race Numbers??

In my previous racing, the organizers distributed approx 12" individual stickers racing number either black on white or white with a black border (the first where free when we renewed the race license and were availabe for purchase at the events for about $1 per number.

Does anybody know where I can find these?

Note: Currently, I use magnetic numbers, but for the price of those you can get a box of 10 from 0-9

I got my decals from Modern Image (http://www.mishield.com). Ask for Enrico, he drives a silver 996 turbo at some of our events.

It's been suggested in the past that the goodie store could probably sell quite a few stick-on numbers at local events. Anybody know of a good source? Carl

That's an excellent idea Carl, we should have the club providing them thru the goodies store.

Good thing is the newbies won't use up all our blue painting tape and we could actually read their numbers by providing numbers

What kind of decals were they?
Static cling or adhesive?
Do you put them on the paint?
Are they a "one-time use" item?

I was bummed you weren't in town for the last 4-hour karting enduro! You were one of my "dream team" drivers. Maybe next time?

Tim,

They were a permanent adhesive (not top quality) but, some people used them as one-time use. Usually go right on the paint or onto the pre-painted number area. I think the dirt bike racer use similar numbers, they usually come as a approx 12" x 6x" or similar.

I would have loved to drive with you guys at the 4 hour Kart enduro.

My vacation timming wasn't the best, I also missed the autox, plus I wanted to see the tecate for the first time.

But I had a great time in the rainy Switzerland and finally got my helmet custom painted by my dad so I won't look like an astronaut with a white helmet he said We also took his F3000 Reynard/Judd apart after the race with the InterSeries in Most (CZ) to setup the car for the next race. These cars are just built to race and so easy to work on.

Might be a cheap alternative to the magnetics?....But the mags sure are easy to store on the inside roof of the trunk and you can get them in millions of colors, custom fonts, fades, etc. On and off in 20 seconds? Either way would save a lot of blue tape!
If someone is going the ultra cheap route, you can even buy some low adhesive shelf paper and cut them out yourself. Choice is yours.

I got my stick on numbers from a motorcycle shop, 8" tall and come as a pack of 3 in your choice of black (at least where I went). But also found them later at a few off-road shops for dune buggies. Used the sticker kiosk in the mall to cut the letters, but their prices are a little steep for their product and service (just over $3. per letter). Again as usual, after the fact I found this place: http://www.speedysigns.com/ and they seem to be able to do it all.

$3 a letter seems a bit steep (3-4 digits, 2-4 class letters, x2 sides = 10-16 letters = $30-$50).

I got my full set of magnetics (2 ovals with numbers, 2 class identifiers, PLUS a name plate for the driver's door) for about $105 from Final Touch Graphics here in SD. I have seen similar pricing on the web.

p.s. The picture in my avatar is an older set of magnetics that I lost after an "off-track excursion". The new ones are as described, and look better. Also, the $105 was including taxes.

That's right Kim, at that price may as well get a set of nice static or magnets. But it's an alternative. I got my magnets from http://www.edecals.com (one week later they were in my mailbox, very good price, service, quality) but since we have a local shop we should use the local one.

Good idea Tim, I will try this out. Luckly I have some black paper left, but good luck finding black shelf paper since most of them have flowers or a mickey mouse on them

Hamster powered? See now Kim is kicking the 944 guys when they are down (they are always down by the way).

In all fairness to the 944 guys though. The 924 is the one that featured the Audi built hamster powered motor. It was a big step up when Porsche went with squirrel power for the 944.

Isn't it just amazing how good a driver I am , and Tim as well, to take our squirrel powered cars and soundly beat most of you in your fancy Porsches. Just imaging the embarrasment you would suffer if we were driving vehicles as wonderful as you aircooled guys, we would probably lap you in an autocross it would be so ugly
