Water pumper gathering at Foster's Freeze

Postby Tim Comeau on Wed Jul 19, 2006 7:25 pm

Hey, some 924/944/951/968/928 people are getting together for ice cream and socializing at Foster's Freeze off of Waring road tomorrow night (Third Thursday) around 7:00 pm. Just take Highway 8 to Waring road, go up the hill and as soon as it levels out, turn right. You can smell the ice cream from there!
Summertime with PCA friends....... :D

I guess all of the nuts and fruits add to the overheating problems. I'm talking about the ice cream and not the drivers. :D

If I leave the 924T on the trailer and tow it with another P-car water pumper, can I still get a chocolate dipped cone and sit with you guys?

Ugh, I just committed to a night of extra work at the shop, trying to get our Huge Mess sorted out with the back rooms and storage.

If y'all want to stop on by when you're done, I'll be here late....address on the bottom, the 924S parked outside :-P

Dave: The fruits and nuts go to feed the squirrels under the hood of a 944. :? Don't you know anything about these cars?

Tim: I've got an early dinner meeting just down the street. How long will you guys hang out? I could stop by after my meeting ...... make mine a single-scoop RockyRoad 8)

Dan: In your case I know it's the nut behind the wheel that keeps it going. I also know that the same nut makes it go sideways when someone is behind him.

Dave, I figure the closer - and longer - I get to sideways, the closer I get to driving a rear-engined Porsche  . I just want to be more like you, dude. :P

Well, we had a nice little social gathering.
John Chambers 924S
Jim Hicks 924S w/968 engine at home
Doug Briggs 944
Chuck Sharp rode with Greg
Greg Sharp 944
myself, Kathy , and the kids. 944

We exchanged some cool racing ideas and war stories......

An added bonus was the surprise appearance of a number of hot rods that would normally be at the La Mesa car show. Seems the La Mesa Police upset these guys by impounding one of the club's trucks? So they boycotted La Mesa and brought their rides to San Diego! Cool rides......

We'll do it again soon. I'm thinking third Thursday is ok?
Lemme know if that works or doesn't.

So was this a water pumper gathering or a front engine gathering? Where were all the 996s, 997s, Boxsters and Caymans? They're all water pumpers, too!
