The new Boxster has become official... well at least in Europe.

I would have thought they could give the Box 300hp since the 911 is now at 325 and 355, but 280 (for the S) is all we get :(

Dave: A buddy of mine just bought a house in Carlsbad off a hairdresser. They sold their million dollar home to trade up to a 2.5 mil house and property in Escondido (unfortunately they took their Viper GTS with them). If I had the skills I would be a hairdresser, the heck with what people think!

Martin: Word on the street is that the Boxster Coupe is scheduled for 2006. Don't know about a CS version, but they're getting closer.

BTW, did you happen to notice that the 997 has steel synchros? I hope the new Boxster has the same. Maybe even a dry sump at some point in the future.

I know, and it didn't work. The only true way to offend me is to call me a VP for some financial management company... ;)

Well, my 944 (951) Cup Car smoked pretty much anything incl. the 911 (930 I think it was) Turbo at the time. Plus the 968 CS and Turbo took care of the next generation of lawnmowers 964 and 965 Turbo :D

Having both water and air, I think they both have their pros and cons.

Anyway I better be quite now, because I suck at trash talk and can't speak english anyway

Well, no offense to you boxster guys, but compared to the new 997, I think they should rename it the "Barfster".

ummm...somehow I don't think we should be comparing cup cars to 930's, Stock 951 and stock 930 in the U.S. this is what I am talking about...

If memory serves, there was a magazine article (Road & Track I believe) in the late eighties that ran a head-to-head comparison of the 944 Turbo (S?) and the 911. They compared them on accel., braking, handling, etc. They even ran them back to back at Willow Springs. As I recall, the hands down winner was the 944. I heard that created quite a stir at PCNA and from that time on, Porsche has made every effort not to trump their flagship.

Thank you David!

You have got to love the Porsche world. No one is afraid to warn you to not make the same mistakes they did.
