Ok, I gotta ask, what are you replacing it with? Do you have a GT3 coming in? :D

Rick,

I wish I could afford my dream car a GT3 RS.

At this point I am thinking of getting a 1988-89 Carrera, but I change my mind faily often and I am also looking at the 996s with one eye.

I am keeping the GT3 Seats and some other parts just in case :D

Yep Martin , just as I suspected...out with the water, in with the air..... I would also like to see the article where a 944Turbo beat a 911Turbo in the late 80's....

Be careful what you ask for 8)

See http://vista.pca.org/stl/944turbo.htm - "the performance of this special model was not to be shadowed until Porsche's introduction of the 911 twin turbo in 1996" (PCA.org's web site!).

See http://www.theautobahn.com/forum/showth ... 02&page=10 for some comments "Ok... look at just about any comparison in the 1980s where the 944 came up against the 911 or 928 for that matter. What happened? The 911 was faster in a straight line... no doubt. But when the judgement was "best handling" ,"best all around", "best balanced" sorry 911 owners.... the 944 won. There are multiple articles I can cite if you like. Plane jane 944 against 911 carrera, 944 turbo 1986 against 911 carrera, or to really address the point... 1989 Turbo 944 against 1989 911 turbo... best of the 1989s 911 turbos."

While neither of these actually cites the printed articles, there seem to be a LOT of web pages that say the same thing - including owners who have both 911's and 944's.

ummm..

you need to read further....

"dude....u hardcore mistaken...

the 951's compare to the 911 carreras...not even close to the 930's...expecially year versus year.....

the 951 is more balanced...that does not mean better handling...just easier to predict...u can get in it, having never driven it before..and look good....but the 911 is quite a serious drivers car especially in the past...and u stick a good 911 driver versus and good 951 driver...the 911 will win......"

My sentiments (sort of) exactly... 8) But I will look at the numbers from "actual" articles, not a typed web page, to make sure...but you hold on to that fantasy....

Martin,
You just keep going older and older. Why an 88-89, get a C2 to match your "RS", they don't really even cost more than 3.2s.

A good comparison of how fast two cars are is just track times. Find some with stock cars and similar tires and I think we will have an answer.
