SDR Concours

A place to hang out and discuss all things Porsche.

Postby Curt on Thu Sep 23, 2004 3:49 pm

You guys seem to be missing the point. Ferry Porsche designed these cars to be cleaned with Q-Tips and sat next to in lawn chairs in a beautiful park setting. Right?

When I bought my first Porsche, I was really excited to go to my first concours. I was amazed at how nice the cars all looked. Then, the overall show winner was a brand new 996 that didn't even have plates yet and was trailered in for the event. Wow, that's really impressive, isn't it?

Then I did my first performance driving event. I FOUND the Porsche owners (and Porsche CARS!) I wanted to hang with.

Who cares about whether this car makes it to the concours, I just wanna know if it will be done in time to show up at the next autox?

Did I mention the 650 HP and 3100 pound curb weight. (That's 4.7 lbs/HP) This car makes the horsepower of a 997 on 3 cylinders! "

But what about your CUPHOLDERS?? :p LOL

And "comfort mode" for your suspension? Sunroof? Full leather dash?? And Xenon lights!

I'll feel better driving to the Concours, and won't spill my coffee ROTFLMAO

It does have full leather, a/c, sunroof, am/fm/cd/dvd/nav with 100a service to the twin amplifiers, and 911 forward door pockets hold a Grande starbucks just fine. This is a 80% street car 20% track car so the suspension is completely adjustible and steetable.

And Yes this car will be with me for several weeks to sort it out, so I am sure it will see a speed event.

Actually it is KP, What class do you run in Jad?

Opps, I guess I should have pressed subtotal - 49 points.

Looks like HM for me, with room for some Hoosiers, Sweet!

You are welcome to the passenger seat Jad but I don't need another 944 driver schooling me..thanks.

I thought your 33.xx at Miramar cured that driving modesty you have. You are a pretty good driver, it is not just the car. There I said it, now we all need to live with it

Now can I drive....

Is this the kind of language we are going to allow on this forum? I for one, am quite upset about this careless disregard for public decency.

Now I wonder if that piece of coal I'm sitting on has turned into a diamond yet.

Had fun this weekend. But apparently I don't know how these Councours things work. We showed up when the judging was going on, so took a quick walk around and figured we'd come back after the judging to stay out of the way. Came back an hour later and all that was left were tire prints in the grass. When is a good time to view a concours, before the judging? And what were the results?

Still had fun, met good folks, saw nice cars. Posted the "997 and the bird" pic on Pelican from this event.
