Well, since you asked...

1993 RSA 54k miles, white/black, true option delete model, H&R coilovers, Kenesis K28's, BIG Reds, 993 Airmass, Porsche Cup DME, B&B headers, Cup exhaust, RSR flywheel and clutch, BK harness bar, Sparco 6-point harness. Rumored to put 290+ to the wheels (remains to be seen when I dyno it this week).

Oh, and did I mention that it only has 5 PCA points? Hello KS...

Slower vehicles please pull to the right!

Sorry, not even close to KS. Brakes, tires, limited slip, coil overs, equal way over 6 points, nice try. Hello KP!

Sounds nice though. Going to show it off in Pahrump, or just the Oct 9 AX?

Congrats again on your very sweet RSA. In KS  Hmm, I guess if you run in KS then I will have to move to JI in 2005, because KP doesn't have enough cars. :?

Oh I just saw the "1993 Martin-Stomping RSA " that's funny. You are a very good driver and you did beat me a couple of times in the Boxster days.

Man, I can't wait for Oct. 9th :beerchug:

Jad: Brakes - 3, Coilovers -2, no LSD, no tires (yet). Per Steve G's close inspection, it is KS.

Martin: aw shucks... Well, as for classing, we need to talk, I would like to run with you (again) so I will probably buy tires to bearly push me into KP. I will still have a lot more weight than you to carry both on the car and my belly, so I will have to work on that from both fronts.

OK, but I am pretty confident I can take you in KS if you don't have any tires

But 290 rear wheel HP with no real engine mods??? I find that kinda hard to believe and know a lot of people who would like to know how to get 333 hp out of a "stock" RSA motor  How much did you pay Steve?

I can't wait to see the wheel smoke from your inside rear street tire on that beast - WATCH OUT GREG, you may have a competitor in the power on oversteer competition.

Welcome to the KS/KP smack class. And for the third time- are you going to Pahrump or do we wait for the AX to see your times??? :beerchug:

Ummm... pardon me for for butting in to Kx but, how does a Mass airflow, headers, and chip get no points?? What is the stock HP for a 93' RSA? I just checked Kieths at 231hp ? hmmm 60+ additional hp for no points...I think I need to talk to Steve....

Power Oversteer

Postby Greg Phillips on Mon Sep 20, 2004 7:02 pm

Remember it is not just the horsepower, but the torque that makes the spinning tire . Also, David's RSA will have his engine sitting over those rear tires which should keep them planted slightly better, but without limited slip he will be spinning one tire coming out of tight corners  .
And finally, for the power oversteer you need limited slip to break both tires loose and really swing the tail. Until I put the new limited slip diff in my greay car, it was a (one)wheel spinner, but not a tail swinger  .

OK- I know this car and 290+HP is flywheel not to the ground. Still very inpressive for a "stock" RSA. Bob brands RSA made 251 to the rear wheels on a very hot 90+ degree day at the Dyno shop tech session. That's 291 with a 16% drivetrain loss. So this car has got to make another 20HP at least. It is very fast !!!

Here's the points rundown:

Brakes -3
Springs-2
Tires - 2 points 255's-17's
Stut brace -1
No LSD
No engine points.

So it is a KP car, but very fast and tight.

It should make for some fun competition

Even if it wasn't fast it is beautiful! Nice acquisition Dave!

OK, Greg you probably will maintain the title, but you now have an apprentice...

Hmmmm, since MAF, headers and a chip are free, I guess I should do that to my car :D but NO you evil 911 people made a rule that I can't do that, but the lighter and more powerful RSA can! CONSPIRACY I TELL YOU IT IS A CONSPIRACY

Sounds like Kx should be fun next year with a couple new competitors

Jad,

You need to come up for some fresh air, or would that be water?

You can install a MAF, you have a chip (stock boost) and you can get rid of some of that heavy restrictive exhaust (same as headers) all for zero points, so I guess I just blew a hole in that line of logic. All hands on deck, you're taking on water...

I guess you'll just have to drive better than the 911 guys....or come up with a better excuse...
