2004 Throw-Outs - That's the Final Answer

Postby Dan Chambers on Tue Sep 28, 2004 6:23 am

Hello everyone! How are you? Good? Great.

Now, let's all sit down .... breath in..... exhale out...... Relaxed? Good.

The final word on the Throw Out issue, in Autocross for the 2004 is as follows:

As stated on August 24, 2004 on this forum, and thoroughly reviewed by the Autocross Chairs, the following statement holds:

No discussion regarding throw-outs was remembered to have occurred in January 2004 by the Autocross Chairs. It was felt that the previous year's policy of no throw-outs seemed to create the (apparent) least amount of conflict.

After much review and consideration of all the factors both historically, and recently (in discussion, on the forum, past policy, etc.) the Autocross Chairs have agreed to the following policy:

There will be No Throw-Outs for Autocross Competition in the 2004 season.

We apologize for any confusion this may have caused. We, the A-X Chairs, have learned a valuable lesson about establishing policy in writing at the beginning of each year regarding the throw-out policy. We ask for your patience, and forgiveness if this has caused any undue confusion or harm. I can assure you, it won't happen again.

We are looking forward to our last Points event October 9th. It is sure to be a heated competition day for those drivers that are close in points. ( I know of tight placing for 1st, 2nd, and even 3rd place in at least 4 different classes. Good stuff.)

See you at the Track!

To be clear ....

Postby Dan Chambers on Wed Sep 29, 2004 6:06 am

Just in case the statement "No Throw-outs" is still too vague, I'll try to clarify:

You can't throw out the rainy-day,
you can't throw out the oats with the hay.

You can't throw out Laura with the bathwater,
you can't sleep at night, even though you ought-er.

You can't throw out the no-shows,
you can't drive AX's in Flojo's.

You can't deduct the lowest score,
you can't win any ribbons with the place of 4.

You have to score all your points to win,
you'll never get a trophy, (Dan A.) if you continue to spin.

Okay. So, I hope you all can understand the rule about throw-outs for 2004. No throw-outs. All points are counted for your season total, including rainy day 5 points. No shows earn no points (which, to really confuse you all, are also counted  )

See you all October 9th ... a Saturday.

Shut the heck up, you guys! I don't even have enough events to throw one out! :(
But the courses have been fun........
And alot of learning has been done.....
Oh, and I'm gonna run the next season in my dad's RSA just so Marguglio feels the same comfort level he experienced in 944-Spec.
Plus, I need to put Martin in his place...............second.
OOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHH! :P :P

I love how these threads get off topic.

Martin, don't you have some trips to Germany or Switzerland or the North Pole scheduled next year. Let me know what your schedule is so I can talk to the stadium about available dates.
