Is it too early for a report?

David, too bad you were not there in your new ride...we could have beat you like an old abused trail mule  But seriously, it was hot, dry, and you could only get in and out of the track at the beginning, lunch, and end of the day. Given that, which really did not matter because the track was great, everything was super!

Mr. Miller turned an awesone time trail lap equaling Mr. Grosekemper in time for second place. How often do people get the exact same time? Well done Jack and Steve!

Great weekend!

A great event - inspite of the fact that I broke a shift linkage on my second timed lap. Jack and crew did a good job as usual.

A special thanks go out to Jeff Schmidt who volunteered to tow my disabled car back to San Diego while I drove his 993 home. I think I got the better end of that deal. Aren't PCA members great. :D

Carl: you mean he didnt drive it for the rest of the track time too? What kind of deal is that?

Darn, if only we'd thought about it, we could have finished the event with a tow-vehicle/trailer race. Would have been great fun to see some of the big boys drift their trailers through turn 8. Carl

 That would be fun. One of these times we should have a pit-transpo (scooters, bikes, carts, etc) race around the track.

I think one of the guys trailering home thought he was still racing  We were caravaning in our CARS at a speed that was faster than I was comfortable with and this guy was uncatchable TRAILERING his race car home. SCARY! It's funny, but I thought the competition was over....

Jad with his trailer not letting Dan pass him in his car on that two lane highway was pretty funny too.

The event was alot of fun. I choked in timed runs, as usual, by two seconds off my best lap, but what else is new? And Dan improved by over a second in his timed run, but what else is new? :D

Hey Curt, I saw that guy as you all passed me. He had the yellow 911. He kind of drove on the track that way too even though I was all over him he would never let me pass. I was going just about 70 when you guys went by so he must have been going 80 or 90 mph with that truck/trailer/car, my god that is dangerous!

Curt,

Did you save some time going home the back way? Hopefully it worked despite that guy (me) not letting you pass for awhile

Fun weekend, though I still don't know what happened to you on your timed runs???? Dan, "the parking lot king", put together a great run as expected, but Ethan schooled us all.

Dan,

Have you figured out how to drink from a bottle yet? If not, my 10 month old can give you some lessons

Thanks for putting this all together Jack and everyone else who helped out.

See you next year.

Can you share this route with the rest of us? I hate driving on the 15 on Sunday evening, especially now with the tailer

Jad,
Mick and I got home in about 4.5 hours. It took us almost 6 on the way up!

My second and slowest run was 1:54 with coasting around 1 corner while not in gear, oh well.
Great run and time Jad!, and thanks for the input and ride in the Star Wars Death Star...
I was cracking up when you moved your trailer to block me from passing you on the way home...

I would be lying if I said I wasn't a little nervous when Curt ran a 1:54.5 in practice, bettering my fastest timed run of 1:55 last year when I was on 245's in the rear, which is excellent for his first time at the track.

Anyway, Thanks Jack for a great event! I will be back next year, and I will try to beat the Death Star...

Pahrump report

Postby Bill Addy on Mon Oct 04, 2004 8:23 pm

We had a lot of fun. :D The track was challenging and the weather was nice. Thank you Jack and the rest of the crew that made it all happen. I continually improved throughout the weekend, learning both the new car and the track. The Toyo's stuck like glue and showed little wear in about 200 miles :o Best unofficial on Sunday for the spec car was 2:06:04 :D Best timed run was 2:06:47, which shows that a 911 in your mirrors can make you go faster

Sounds like a fun weekend!
Schedule conflict so I couldnt make it.
So has the track changed hands?
Any changes to the track from last year, did they widen it for road racing?
Congrats Dan A you must of beat your 1.55.79 from last year, so was it Dan and Curt top 2 in AM?
You guys going to SDR SOW? I hope to.

Since the end of year SDR TT at Big Willow was canceled some of us are considering other Big Willow weekends.
The Alfa weekend on 10/24&24 and or the Pantera weekend 11/6&7.
