Interesting Pahrump lap times....

Postby kary on Thu Oct 07, 2004 5:27 pm

It is really interesting to see that everyone (almost) ran their best timed run in the first lap versus the second lap. Though my second lap was only 0.03 slower most ranged from 0.1 to 2.0 seconds slower in the second lap. Why do you think this is the case?

Because Tom has had to modify the timing software to accept the transponder feed within the framework of the old system. So in order to export the results, I believe he has to do some manipulation of the data, thus everyone's times are sorted best, then second best, regardless of the order achieved. My second lap was actually faster in reality, even though the results indicate the opposite.

I thought there was something fishy about that. Thanks for shedding some light on this Robert!
