Nice in-car footage of Porsche photographer and film maker Jeff Zwart at the Pike's Peak hillclimb this past weekend in a GT3 2007 Cup car, updated to 2010 specs and specially modified for PP.

That is what you call having the tires go away on the second half of the run and having ZERO grip!!!

Tom, that is a very cool video! It is really neat that porsche can transform/adjust there endurance/road course racecars into Rally/Hill Climb winners

I'm sure those Pirelli tires were feeling pretty beat by the end of that run, but the first half was on pavement with the second half on gravel. Which is much like driving on ICE compared to tarmac.

If any one has ever put all four wheels off at Willow Springs or Button Willow you know the feeling :(

Tons of respect and admiration for those multi-surface/hill-climb/rally types. Testicles the size of bowling balls.

Jeff Z. has usually entered the 4WD Porsches in the PP hillclimb--specially prepped Turbos, and then he tried a 2WD GT2 a couple years ago, but this is the first NA 2WD Porsche he has used, I think. I'm surprised it did so well against the other forced-induction and 4WD cars at that altitude. The credit has to go to his driving skill and the prep that PCNA did on the car to make it work well on the mountain. He praised the Pirelli tires, which were Grand Am rain tires, apparently, and worked well on both tarmac and gravel.

I didn't realize it before, but the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is the second oldest motorsports race in America, behind only the Indianapolis 500.

I've always enjoyed these two hillclimb videos... Obviously for different reasons. Turn up the volume, and the quality, and enjoy.

Incredible "homebrew" engineering by the Red Bull Formula D team to build this car in 4 months. Check out this article for an inside look at an Unlimited class PP race car.

They didn't get the sub 10-minute result they wanted at this years race, but with more sorting, it could have a chance to compete against the 1000HP Suzuki "Monster" of Japan’s Nobuhiro Tajima, which has won 5 straight years now and holds the record at 10:01.
