So "it's the driver" (and new tires)

A place to hang out and discuss all things Porsche.

I think both the 700 HP GT2 and the GT3 would wax you on that track. :burnout:

Actually, I think the outside tire looks absolutely perfect - so be sure to change lots, maybe sway bars and rims as well 8)

Beating the 968

Postby Greg Phillips on Tue Feb 01, 2005 12:49 pm

You guys are using the wrong tool to get ahead of Bill's car .
Here are the results from KSS in 2001. :^)

KSS Phillips, Greg 928 1987 928 S4 1 101
KSS Ibbetson, Bill 491 1994 968 2 100
KSS Smith, Katheryn 40 1993 911 C2 3 93
KSS Desrochers, Bruno 89 1989 911 C4 4 84
KSS Brand, Bob 212 1993 911 RSA 5 76

You just need another four cylinders in front
911s just aren't up to the task.

I second Bob's thoughts on track design, but I think we could handle at least one tight hairpin. Perhaps the following:

Start >-----------------------------------------------------------------
}
Finish <----------------------------------------------------------------

Well, you get the idea anyway!

The "Awards Nite" track setup is my favorite, it looks faster and it is clockwise 8)

That track appears to make the swale crossing at the end of a high speed sweeper. I'm sure that some suitable kink will be devised for that. 968's should have to make two laps.

Yeah, that one hurt. :x I still remember it Greg. Last event of the year was going to decide it. All I needed was 2nd place as I recall and I got third. Darn tires! My wife even told me to go get new ones, but NOOOOOO I thought I could get one more event out of them.

Yes, the big Speedway..............
The best lap for a spec car is around 2:03! My best is a 2:03.5.

Sorry guys, the first opportunity for me is the June event at Buttonwillow. I'll be hauling the family around in an RV during the Fontana event. Yeah, it will be my first big track event. I'm sure I'll be more than humbled by the experience. Razzing these guys is sooooo much fun.

They even had to call in the BIG DOGS.
