Just got home from the Q and you lazy guys are OK, we called the event off. It was raining steadily and there was no end in sight--forecasts are for showers into the afternoon. About 40 people showed up and more were still arriving as I left, but it would have been pretty miserable to set up the course, corner work, etc.

Someone said they saw Jackie Corwin wrecked by the side of the road in her red 944 on the I-15 on the way down. Hope it wasn't serious. :?:

Whew

Postby gsamad on Sat Feb 12, 2005 12:03 pm

Whew, I made the right call for a change! Last season I came for the two rainouts and stayed in bed for the one sunny event in the winter! :(

I guess I'll see you guys at the banquet tonight!

Rumor control

Postby Jackie C on Sat Feb 12, 2005 5:14 pm

Thanks for mentioning it Tom. Yep, that was my daughter and myself involved in the multiple car collision at Carroll Cyn on the 15S this morning. I should have taken off the Toyos, but no.......Atleast both racing seats and 5 pts were in and it was a very low speed slide underneath an F150 pickup. The girl in front up us hydroplaned and deployed both airbags and the guy behind me got smacked by someone who left their front bumper with license plate at the scene. No injuries, luckily and I'd personally like to thank Forrest-(sorry don't remember your last name ) new PCA AXer for being so helpful in assisting me to push the car off the road and relay word down to the Q for me. There sure are nice people out there! I will bring pictures to the dinner tonight. Heck, I still have one good 944 left!
Blue skies,
Jackie

That's the important part, Jackie. Glad to hear no one was hurt. You can always fix the car.
