Buttonwillow Weekend

Postby Greg Phillips on Mon May 28, 2012 8:52 pm

Just back from a fun weekend at Buttonwillow raceway with Zone 7 and GGR.
They put on a TT and Club race.

Although not a Zone 8 event this year, there were still a few from Zone 8 who were competing.
Chuck Sharp took the Spec 944 class wins
Roland Schmidt took his class win and was second in both the sprint races. He had a goo dice with the winner after leading several laps on Sunday.
Vince Knauf, Mike Mulligan, Mark Foley, and Debbie Sharp were also running.

The Zone 8 TT domination was finally broken, but only by .04 seconds as Steve Grosekemper was second to Andrew Winterbottom's GT3, you can look at the racing excuse generator for more reasons, but we actually did run out of front tires after a flat spot took out our new set. Had to put a mismatched set of Hankook Z214 & Z211 245/45/18 on the front for timed runs.
