I now know the true meaning of RSR - Really Serious Roadhog
Hi Pete.
RSR, it is that.
My buddy Vic Ofner built the engine. Vic is a Porsche factory trained mech. Back in the 80s he spent 4 years at the Porsche factory completing the factory mechanic school and then stayed on for 6 more months building 962 engines. He is a great guy and I’m really looking forward to tracking this 3.6 he built for me.
The engine has been upgraded some, more for longevity than peak hp.
I need to get it all in a document but off the top of my head…
Stock compression.
Super cup cams with 964 style cam gears should give it a small boost.
Typical adjustable fuel regulator and custom chip, Nology wires and coil amplifiers with the stock induction and jet hot coated headers. Very light intake blending, stock size valves with heavy duty valve springs and titanium retainers.
Other mods…
Everything has been balanced. Carrillo rods and dowel pins installed in the case. RSR solid rockers replace the stock hydraulic style rockers. Windage mods, boat tailed case and cylinder bases and piston skirts machined for windage purposes as well. Light weight flywheel and Center Force clutch.
Vic is real believer in the Cyro, lubrication and heat treatments available today. Pardon me if I am less than technical here…The top of the pistons and the valve face surfaces received heat dissipating treatments.
The Piston sides received a lubrication treatment. The Valve springs and retainers received a Cyro treatment.
When it’s all ready Jae (Mirage International) will tune it up on a wheel dyno.
