Here are today's autocross results:

Results: http://results.pcasdr.org/event_standings.php?time_format=0&database=&event_date=2014-04-19
BRI: http://results.pcasdr.org/event_bri_standings.php?time_format=0&database=&event_date=2014-04-19

The track was fun and challenging and the event was nicely run. I loved the first track version before it was changed, but I agree it had to be changed for safety reasons. It was a fun day, thank you everyone.

Thanks to all who made the day another great one. The track was very good and I felt didn't favor any type of car in particular...except of course Cupcake since it is widely known it is a cheater car and every element of every track favors the car.

I'd also like to acknowledge Rodney for coming out early in the morning to help set the track up and then not even stay to drive. That is a pretty selfless volunteer if I've ever seen one. :beerchug:

I had hoped to post some video of my timed runs but when I went to download it from the camera I discovered that some genius forgot to put the memory card in (I did remember to charge the battery!) :banghead:

Way to get out ahead of the harassment there Adam! Nice try...

Shouldn't there be a +2s penalty for any car that loses its sprinkles during timed runs? And, time for a BRI change anyone?!? :roflmao:

And kudos to Jackie Corwin! She really knows how to drive the wheels off a car...

Perhaps some of those kudos go to her mechanic/tow-truck-driver/super-husband, Phil. And continuing on the "Its not the cars, its the people" note... If anyone stayed to the bitter end, you would have seen 10 cars clustered around Jackie's car in the middle of the lot, with all those drivers out there lending a hand to make sure their fellow PCA member got loaded up and headed home OK. It was awesome to see.

Phil is nothing short of amazing.
Several of us 944 folks went up to help (including 944 guru Tim) but Phil had the suspension apart, fixed, re-assembled, and back on it's wheels in ten minutes all by himself!
WOW!
If you're going to race a Porsche, it sure doesn't hurt to be married to a Porsche mechanic :D

Man that was fun.. Still wearing the PermaGrin!

Thanks to all the volunteers -- SDR rocks the auto-x. Big thanks to to Keith (kjr914) for the excellent coaching... Really feel like I was starting to "get ahead of the course" on the last few timed runs ;-)

Looking forward to the next one!

Great track design... both the fast one and modified one... forgot how much fun an AX can be! Isabella and I had a great time and saw a lot of people we hadn't seen in a long time. Good thing for me the fuel pump decided to die, because based on her practice times, I think Isabella would have beaten me for the first time on Saturday.... :surr:

Great track and a lot of fun for me to get back into the seat of a 914.
Like sliding on that old pair of jeans you found in the back of the closet.

Hope to be back to run a car again soon instead of just running tech!

Great job by all the volunteers.

Thanks to Jerry, Mark, Keith and Adam too for spending even more time with me sharing their experience for the track setup. Great insights!

And I promise to not overreact to any negative comments. I know everyone just wants the track to be the best it can be.

That was an awesome track Rodney! It was technical and for me at least on the edge at many spots, but it was also rewarding as well as forgiving when mistakes were made. The track was wide enough in the perfect spots to allow for screw ups and different lines. People I talked to all felt they could do better if they had more time. We all walked away with a smile! Thank you.

Also, thanks Jerry for making sure there were donuts and pizza, etc. since the lunch truck was not there. Big Up to Katie Kinninger for the Costco run.

As for the new run group schedule…
1. I liked corner working in the morning
2. I felt super rushed in the first half of the day - Corner working first run sessions to immediately riding with my student, to immediately instructing - to having to make him get out of my car at the 2nd lap because he had to corner work. Luckily, he was experienced enough that I didn't have to corner work with him. Guess we need more tweaking
3. I like that some of the newer/less experienced groups are running timed runs later because more people seem to stick around to help clean up and celebrate.
