Coronado Speed Festival, Volunteers Needed, PCASDR Hospitality Tent, Sponsored by Porsche of San Diego
The event is just around the corner, as always, without the help of so many, the PCASDR Hospitality Tent and Corral parking takes a team to organize.
If you would like to help Friday 9/19 afternoon 4pm, or Sat 9/20 or Sun 9/21,
Friday is setup the tent starting at 4pm, tables, chairs, flag poles and banners ect.
Sat & Sun Direct traffic into the corral parking so the cars are lined up straight, tight, evenly spaced as SPACE is a Premium
I am looking for 3 shifts of people each day to direct traffic (8am-10, 10-12, 12-1pm) It would be nice to have 10 people each day, I am dreaming......
Help is also always needed to manage the tent during day, restock drinks, snacks, general housekeeping, and answer questions.
Please email Katie Kinninger at Kinninger@cox.net if you would to help. Please place "Volunteers Needed" in the subject line.
Thank you, looking forward to another fabulous event, see you there. Katie Kinninger & John bell

Be sure to try this event at least once.
A race track surrounded by awesome views...San Diego bay, Pt Loma and the downtown buildings.
This is also the first time the Big Willow SDR TT is not in conflict with the Coronado vintage races.
In the past I've parked cars in our SDR corral but this year were racing in the event.
It's the '88 white Camaro blue stripes with the PCA national driving instructor decal.
Support Fleet Week and our Military, come out and enjoy the race on the base. 8)

Come out and show your support for the military and the only road course race track in San Diego.
Weekend weather forecast calls for mid 70s at Coronado. 8)

Much nicer than the temps in my La Mesa garage.
Where I've been the last 3 weeks getting my vintage race car ready.
I'm in group 4.
1988 IMSA GTO/Tran Am history #110 white Camaro with blue stripes.
640hp, 2600lbs and 14inch wide slicks.
Close ratio gears and geared for only 140mph top speed on the shorter airport track.
Basically every upshift drops just 800 rpm.

Event schedule.

Sunday more excitement flying trucks on a road course.

Saw a bunch of PCA friends. :D
Fun visiting with all the track regulars. 8) 8)

Fwiw Saturday DNF on lap 5.
I thought it was a flat tire so pulled over.
Fire truck driver said tire was not flat.
"do you want to drive it back or have us tow it?"
My first thought was...for no reason did I just pull off the track while comfortably in 2nd?
So finding it was a suspension issue made me feel better. lol
Blame that one on the Coronado bumps.

The Sunday race from last place to 6th.
