Warrior Tour 2014 - Broadcast 1

PCA Warrior Tour Driver Team,
This year the Warrior Tour is scheduled for Sat, 18Oct2014. Please RSVP at your earliest convenience at duck10@san.rr.com and please include:
Car Make: Year: Model: Color:
License Plate State: Number:
Notes:
The program will be much as it was last year. One thing notably different is the title of this year’s tour, “The Warrior Tour”. Happily—owing to the fact that we’ve had decisively fewer wounded warriors recovering at Naval Medical Center (NMC) Balboa—we are expanding the aperture to include the Navy’s Special Forces personnel from Amphibious Base Coronado.
Our Vice President, Keith Verlaque, has graciously stepped to the plate to (once again) lead the gaggle on this momentous adventure. We’re shooting for about 50 cars and while the preferred equipment is “Porsche”, we had lots of other collectibles and desirables in previous years and they were a hit! So please check your calendar and if you can spend the day with us and our Warrior guests, please contact me (duck10@san.rr.com) at your earliest opportunity and we'll get you on the list.

Details to follow but the macro-level play book is:
• 8:15 am, on Saturday, 18Oct2014 - Initial join-up and brief at parking lot at Park Blvd. and President's Way (adjacent to Veteran's Memorial).
• Timing and Route - Following the brief (about 0845) we'll proceed, en masse, to Balboa Naval Hospital to pick up our guests. We'll have through-the-gate security
privileges, but it's very important that you display your Balboa Naval Hospital Gate Pass (passed separately) on your dash and to hold that pass, I need the information above. We've been given permission to park in front of the hospital barracks, Building 26, where we'll meet our Warriors and load-up.
• Keith Verlaque has plotted a stunning route through the hill country of East San Diego - drive time approximately 2-hours and 20-minutes. We'll run the
route and make one pit stop at the Sycuan Casino. Keith has arranged for us to park under the Portico, the valet parking area, close to the main entrance of the casino.
About noon we'll arrive at the Marine Corps Leatherneck Aviation Museum on Miramar Way for a catered lunch.
• The tour will end around 3:00 PM when we return our guests to Balboa Naval Hospital. Again, we need to ensure we have an accurate head-count prior to departing the museum.
This promises to be an extraordinary opportunity to pay tribute to our 1st line of defense and especially to those who have sacrificed far more than their time.

Thank you in advance for taking your time to show these young men and women we care.
