Here's a practice session with Bill B in the car. I'm attempting to show him my "method" for car control/recovery. More video to follow after massive editing. 8)

Great video, Mark - I must say that I particularly enjoyed the section starting at about the three minute mark...

Thanks to all for a really great weekend.

I believe that Bill asked "how do you do that?"

Sharon's video is going to take some editing to protect the guilty. 8)

Here is my timed lap(s)? video my dad made.

Not perfect, as I was really trying to carry LOTS of speed into corners and was slightly further from apexes than I wanted, but that would have certainly been fixed on lap 2  Still back to full gas way before all apex cones.

I thought it was interesting to watch lap 2 and realize the time was 2:13 for that lap as a comparison on how the line and momentum can make effortless reasonable times.

Great driving. Very close, even on the apexes that you didn't nail. I might have tried a different line in a couple of places, but I'm used to a different car and don't have all that newfangled stuff like ABS. Makes me think of what my next car should be.

Love the music during lap two. :P

Where would you have done a different line and why? Trying to learn some new tricks this year.

Ahhh so that's what it looks like going 15 seconds/lap faster. Whew!

Nice vids guys. One question though. It seemed like the track had pretty good grip everywhere except the Rondeau radius which always feels really slippery going in. What gives? Sand? Track aggregate? Slight off camber corner? I always need fast hands there.

Really, after all the help I have given you over the years. Remember, "more gas, it will hold, you have good car control skills?" Of course, that was meant to apply to that corner, not every corner you ever take in your life, but oh well.

BTW, Somebody asked me over the weekend what would happen if you and I swapped cars. :?:

Interesting question.

We have both done this in multiple cars with similar results. I think it would be pretty predictable what would happen. The real question would be, if we both drove the same Boxster/944/Cayman, who would win
