All club members are invited to a special opportunity to attend a unique car show event at the Marine Corps Recruit Depot near San Diego Airport on June 28th.

We will have a special "Porsche Corral" at the Car Classic on the Bay at MCRD on Sunday, June 28 from 10AM to 2PM. If you wish to participate in a car competition, there will be a car judging event by US Marines.
Two awards per category will be given for the following:
1920s, 1930s, 1940s,1950s, 1960s, 1970s, 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, motorcycle.
Special awards will be given for:
Generals Choice
MCRD First Ladies Choice
Peoples Choice
Best In Show

Other activities: Entertainment, Commanding General Trophy Presentation, Vendor, MCRD Marine Corps Band, Door Prizes, Marine Corps Colors Ceremony, Food, craft beers, Military Vehicle Displays.

Come park on a manicured lawn overlooking the bay and enjoy the hospitality of the US Marines. The Recruit Depot provides its nation’s Corps with basically trained Marines to fight in the current conflicts. The depot has the responsibility to train all male recruits who reside west of the Mississippi River to serve at the call of the nation.

Well behaved dogs, coolers, and sunshades are welcome. All vehicles and items are subject to search.

I would like to extend a special welcome to our military members and veterans. Email me with a photo in uniform, service branch, rank, dates of service and military specialty to receive a free PCA Veteran Placard to display on your windshield.

To register and get directions, go to http://www.mcrdcarclassic.eventbrite.com
PCA members enter promo code "Porsche" to receive the $20 car club rate.

We're signed up, seems like an all day buffet with a car show featured between meals. :D

Great event today -- perfect weather, right on the water, no stress (just a Shine & Show), with lot's of really interesting and cool vehicles of all types.

Folks, put this one on your schedule for next year -- the location is great and supporting our troops is a perfect way to spend a Sunday in San Diego.

Here's a few pictures -- imagine a really strong PCASDR showing next year -- thanks Rick for organizing!

Fun photos thanks Charles. :D
Nice event and a great location along the banks of San Diego Bay.
They had over 300 cars and room left for maybe another 100.
We had the reserved breakfast and lunch, food was great too.
Next year might just do the breakfast and then try one of the food trucks for lunch.
Yvonne and I enjoyed meeting and bench racing with all the Porsche guys and gals.
Might take the old muscle car next year, like Dan Chambers did this year. 8)

Thank you guys. I had a great time and thought the day was perfect. They even had a curry wurst truck for the Porsche club so we could all get of fill of German junk food. We had a grand time!

Mike -- you didn't mention your M491 option car! I've also got an '88 M491/M470 Cab. it's at Jae Lee's shop today as some guy from up north *really* wants to buy it off me. More car stuff to talk about next time!

glws on your M491, it is similar to your RSR, so I can see letting it go.
Mine's a keeper, being fully restored, interior is at Auto International right now.
Keep me in the loop when another cool show comes around. 8)
With some wacky wide wheels Jae made for the blue 911.

Epic Mike -- looks like one of those kid's toys with the wide wheels!

Mine's got 55K original miles and mostly original -- a wheel is being repaired by Jae so it's got these funky twists on it at the moment:

We'll see about the sale... she's awful fun to drive on a sunny day... but I almost always end up taking the RSR, so should go to a good home!

Yes, a great show. Monica had just purchased the all-original '65 Mustang. She missed the show, but the car and I made it down. The car made it on the 4:00 PM news on Channel 6. 8)

We'll definitely go again next year. Very cool show.
