Hello - I like Porsches. (or is that Porschi?)

Hey folks, just joined PCA yesterday and wanted to introduce myself. Name is Jae and I purchased a new to me 987.2 Boxster S last year.

I hope to see some of you at the auto-x on June 20 (which I'm still trying to figure out how to register for). I used to be a part of BMWCCA back in the day when I had my E46 M3 and did a couple of auto-x with them at Qualcomm. I decided to get into auto-x again and do some track days later in the summer so here I am! On my off time I also enjoy doing some soft roading in my TJ Wrangler.

Anyway, some pics!

Jae,
Thanks for the introduction. I hope you find our club as enjoyable as I do.
Regarding assistance with AX registration, please reach out to any of the Ax team members listed on the web site.
Best,

Jae welcome,

You have found the best sports car clubs in the southwest. Hang on cause it could be a bumpy ride. Remember the slippery slope.
Your Boxster is a perfect car for this club. Pronounce it PORSCH AAH's if you like, no matter what you've heard we really don't care.
It looks like you have a some photographer in you. Great Pictures.
Hope to see you at the track.

Welcome to the club, Jae!

Glad you could join us. Please let us know if you're still have trouble registering on Motorsport.reg, which is not always real intuitive. Also, let us know if you have any difficulty finding or completing your tech form.

As co-founder of the Land Rover Club of Las Vegas, I have enjoyed off-roading too, and would love to get back into it, but I don't currently have an off-road warrior.

We look forward to meeting you and your Boxster at the June 20th AX.

Best regards,

Thanks guys!

I'm going to give registration another shot today. I think it's only a bit complicated because I seem to already have an account in the system from my old BMWCCA days.

Jae,
You need to first register the car on the classification site.
http://zone8.pca.org/CarClass/Default.aspx

Register yourself
http://zone8.pca.org/CarClass/Account/R ... ReturnUrl=

Then go back to the link at the top and pull the menu down to "Add A Car"
the rest is self explanatory.

you will need info off your "view" page to complete your motorsports Reg information.

If you get stuck send me an email...

Hmmm I think I may have done this in reverse order but I appear to be registered so I think I might be good to go. Hopefully.

Jae,

Welcome to the club. You are currently registered for the June 20th event and you have classified your car on the Zone 8 classification site. Make sure that you sign in on that site, click on the PDF link for your car and print out page one of that form and bring it with you to tech. It will print out all of your car and class information for you automatically. You will have add your personal information prior to printing (a privacy thing). Make sure you bring your membership card or email as this is a member only event. For more information on how our events are run, click here. http://pcasdr.net/2013/?page_id=341

If you have any questions, contact one of the chairs, a board member or post a question here. Hope to see you at the event. :)

Quick question, I assume I require a M or K rated Snell helmet right?

C. All car occupants must wear a Snell approved helmet (SA, SAH, K or M),
which has the current available Snell rating or the one previous Snell rating.
Expiring helmets shall be acceptable until June 30 of the year after the new
standard. If it is a Snell K or M rated helmet and the occupant is required to
wear a driving suit, then the occupant must also wear a nomex balaclava
(headsock). Any other helmet currently approved for PCA Club Racing also
qualifies. Evidence of this approval shall be provided by the driver, if
necessary; such as a current PCA Club Racing inspection sticker or presentation
of the Club Race rules.

From our rules which can be found here: http://www.zone8.org/assets/docs/2015/2015Z8Rules.pdf
