PCA Club Race Laguna Seca Video

Postby dcarusillo on Mon Jun 08, 2015 9:47 pm

Great weekend in Monterey. These are the last three laps of the final race. It's is a little long (5 min)....but I didn't want to leave out the dirt drifting, Cup cars screaming by, exhausts spitting fire and the rub/nudge I got on the final corner (@5:14 min).
Enjoy!

Good move Dan! That orange car had some legs, but good on you for hitting your marks and corners better

Here is a link to my version of a devil dance with the flame spitting dragon:
https://youtu.be/2893Iepqvjw
Those Jerry Woods Spec911 motors are pretty strong but I'm sure MARK KINNINGER could build us a 3.2 to keep up if we opened our pocket books.
You'll notice I let the other guy do all the work, which was my theme this weekend. I'm sure all you instructors will see the same things I'd do differently if only I'd watched my video instead of going out Friday and Saturday nights. But I owed it to the San Diegans who got me going after a brush with the tire wall outside 4 on Friday. Special thanks to DQ from BLACK FOREST, who shares the "cut it to size, pound it to fit, and paint it to match" philosophy I learned years ago with Aase Bros., and JIM DUNCAN, who has been trying to teach me the difference between "full gas" and "limo driving" since my first DE through "Green, green green" on the radio last weekend. THANKS for a great weekend guys.

Boy, that orange guy was really good at blocking the turn-in point and then parking it in the slower corners, only to pull away on the straights. I was getting the "red mist" just watching the videos.

There's got to be something I can race around here (maybe wheelbarrows with the local gardeners...) :x

You guys both had better lines and consistent laps. That orange car could sure run up the hill though. Whew! Glad to see you out doing it boys!

For those who were up there last weekend - are there any traffic problems between Salinas and Laguna Seca due to construction? The suggested route from GGR takes you all the way around the north of the racetrack, back to Hwy. 1, and enter from the west. Is this good info?

Thanks,

Phil

Hey Phil, I usually take the 46 to the 101 then cut over to river road and merge on to the 68 . This bypasses Salinas to the South.
