Hello All -

New member checking in. Looking forward to being part of the community. Long time AMG owner with a new passion for Porsche. Looking forward to learning how to drive a lighter rear engine car. I've enjoyed HPDE events in the big HP/torque cars but I am really looking forward to trying my hand at AX.

A few quick pics of the car. I found the Targa 4S in LA. It was a perfectly optioned dealer demo except for the wheels which I had powder coated(not a sin!).

Welcome to the club, Shelle! That's a beautiful Targa. For sure, bring it out to the next autocross on Sept. 12th. And don't forget the new member party on Sept. 6th as well. There will be lots of people to meet and ask any questions you have about PCA-SDR events.

To autocross, the first thing you should do is create an account on the Zone 8 Classification site and enter your car there. This will give you your car's class and allow you to print out a tech inspection form to bring to the event. Then, you need to set up an account at Motorsportsreg.com if you don't already have one and pre-register for the event.

If you want to get up to speed quickly in driving your rear-engine 911, sign up for the next Performance Driving School in October and you will get to experience the handling limits of your new car safely with expert instruction in Porsche driving dynamics.

HTH,
TT

+911 on this!
Even if you are an experienced driver, you can have a great weekend "bonding" with the new car and feeling out the dynamics on our slippery skidpad, practicing braking (neck snapping? in the 991) and high speed lane changes on a wet surface, high speed dynamics in turns and a day of Autocross to boot. Oh, and make 100 new PCA friends all in one weekend. :D

And....a white 911 Targa wide body! Makes me miss my '86 (White/black Targa Factory Turbo-look).

Herzlich Willkommen!
Keith
