Hello Everyone,
Bill and I met with the Stadium Authority last week along with the other car clubs and grabbed as many dates as we could that avoid conflicts with planned Club events and DE/TT weekends. The list that you will see below is subject to Board approval and is listed now for your convenience to plan for the first half of the 2016 AX season. We will not use all of the dates for an Autocross. The CDI's might use one or two for an Instructor Day if they so choose. Out of the dates listed there will eventually be 5 that are designated as an AX with one being a Zone 8 AX.
The plan for the upcoming 2016 AX Season Points Championship will be to require each participant to delete one event result from the year's total of qualified AX point events.
For example: If there are 10 AX Points events, only the best 9 events count towards the Championship. Each participant will still be required to participate in 51% of the AXs to qualify for the Championship Points Race.
1 / 17 West Lot
2 / 6 West Lot
2 / 21 West Lot
3 / 12, 13 West Lot PDS
3 / 26 West Lot
4 / 23 West Lot
5 / 7 West Lot
5 / 15 West Lot
6 / 12 West Lot
6 / 26 West Lot
Again, these are the dates that we have secured with the Stadium. We will ask for approval from the Board, consult with the CDIs, and come up with the AX schedule during the Month of December. Any questions, concerns, or suggestions, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Best regards,
Mark

Thank you guys for the coordinating of the first 6 months of the AX schedule! So, if I understand you correctly we will have 5 AXs in the first half of the year (thru June 2016)?

I have always liked the throw out AX because it lessens the burden of having to make all the AXs if you are seriously in contention for trying to win your class championship. Or, if you screw up or can’t make it one time, you can throw that AX out. Potential reasons for absence – slept in, bad tires/mechanical breaks, (because this sport can cost a lot of money), vacation, relative’s wedding, death/illness in family, job demands, etc, etc, …

My question is: Are we trying for 11, 10, or 9 points AXs this year?

The 2015 Autocross Season Points Race consists of 10 events, the last of which is Sunday November 29th and all events count toward the Season Point total.
The AX scheduled December 19th, 2015 is a non-points "Other Car" event.
The goal for the 2016 Autocross Season Points Race is to put on 10 events spread as evenly as possible throughout the year dependent on site availability and avoidance of conflict with other PCASDR scheduled events. It's not easy balancing all of these requirements and avoiding Holiday weekends, but we do our best while other Car Clubs are grabbing their dates at the same time.
The 2016 AX Season will require one "throw out" event which could be an AX that a driver was unable to attend or the worst result of an AX for a driver with perfect attendance.
We were fortunate to be able to grab 9 potential dates for the first half of the 2016 year. We will designate 5 of the 9 as AX events after we get approval from the Board for all 9 and the PDS weekend. We will work with the CDI's on deciding which dates make sense for AX's and Instructor Days.
Best regards,
Mark
