Sounds like the future of the franchise, and possibly our AutoX venue at Qualcomm Stadium may be resolved by Jan 13th?

I'm not a Football fan, but this keeps me up at night...

It will likely be a lingering death as an AX venue :banghead:

SDSU has a contract for another few years and the Bowl games also have contracts so the Q will be around for a while yet.

And the NFL has yet to decide who they want to move to LA, I doubt that all 3 teams will be selected

I think it is a lingering death either way, and I'm not sure which way will be slower/faster...

I do think we need to be looking for alternative venues... pretty much whatever happens our open field of asphalt is unlikely to survive for too much longer.

Any GoogleEarth geeks out there know how to program it to find big patches of concrete?

Where does SDPD train officers in driving techniques? A couple of times, I've seen them in the Q parking lot during the week when I've been dropping off the trailer. So, this means they may be in the same boat with us. The Club (along with BMW, SCCA, etc) should find out where they do other training, and discuss with them their future plans when the Q is gone. The more parking lot users we can find and discuss future plans with, the more options we may find. As well, larger negotiation power comes with a coalition of many when we find that new venue.

The Del Mar Fairgrounds has some paved parking... Maybe we need to talk them into paving ALL of their parking lots! :)

Also, for reference, there was some discussion on this 6m-1yr ago in a previous "The Chargers are leaving" thread here on the forum.

Well, the NFL owners voted yesterday to allow the Rams to move to LA, with an option to allow the Chargers to move with them to the stadium proposed in Inglewood. Dean Spanos has a year to decide if the Chargers will move there also. If they don't, the Raiders will have the same option. This seems to mean that the plan for the Chargers and Raiders to move together to a stadium in Carson, which is what Spanos wanted, is dead. Time will tell what they will do, but the path to move is open.
