Sorry in advance for dwelling on the negative. That said, attending C&C this Saturday and seeing the gorgeous (98+ point, per the owner) pale blue Speedster brought to mind this string and my original post. If you go to the link in the string to the Ferrari group's forum you can get an update. We know that Ms. Amanda didn't survive. As for the Speedster owner, John - well...recovery will be a long process. Minding their own business on a wide city street; slammed by a DUI driver. (Last I read in the paper, the DUI driver was under charges and being held on $3 million bail.) Now my mind is twisted. Yeah, for several years I drove a '66 Beetle with NO seatbelts. Only because the USAF airbase I worked at first mandated lap belts, and then shoulder belts, did I add them. But once I had them, I realized I couldn't drive without them. So back to our chapter mates with classic wheels. Our oldest Porsche has proper shoulder belts, albeit over 30 years old. Otherwise, the older and more classic our Porsches are, the more we're at risk when driving them. It won't be us that does something stupid. It will be one of those - you see them everywhere - numbskull, texting, bald tires, paying-no-attention drivers that surround us every time we venture out of our garages. What a downer to even think about!!
