Rear-drive and a seven-speed manual are standard; all-wheel drive and a seven-speed automatic are optional.

So the 2017 GTS still has the same NA engine as before? I thought they were going turbo also? There is no spec listed on the Porsche USA site yet that I can find. Has the GTS been released? It seems odd to have a GTS with only 10HP more than an S model. They had 30HP more than the S previously, no?

Was this launch a public event? I didn't see it on the club calendar.

Hello,
I believe the article was comparing the specs of the new 2017 Carrera/S to the 2016 naturally aspirated GTS model.

Here is a speculated update on the 2017 Porsche GTS:

"In the 911 lineup, the GTS models had the same engine as the standard Carrera S, but with the normally optional power package fitted in standard, giving them 30 horsepower extra. Now that both the 2016 Porsche 911 Carrera and the Carrera S facelifts have switched to a turbocharged, 3.0-liter, flat-six, the 911 GTS 991.2 is more than likely to jump on the same bandwagon. If the same strategy as the one used on the pre-facelift model is kept, the new GTS will probably deliver approximately 450 horsepower, which, along with the massive torque increase, should make it almost as fast as the 2014 Porsche 911 GT3 in a straight line."

The source can be found here on topspeed: (Source: http://www.topspeed.com/cars/porsche/20 ... 71262.html)

This was not a PCA Sanctioned Event, however available directly on Porsche of San Diego's website calendar.

OK, that makes more sense. I think it's been pretty well established that the GTS will have a turbo engine for 2017. Porsche's filing with CARB last month shows the 2017 GTS will have the same 3.0L as the other Carreras. How much HP it will have is just a matter of tuning, but 450 is everyone's best guess, to maintain the same 30HP differential with the S model as the 2016s.
