Stolen 914-6 Racecar!!

Postby Steve Grosekemper on Wed May 04, 2016 11:46 am

Really sad news from the race this past weekend which had nothing to due with the race at all. An old time PCA friend of mine Steve Livelsberger got two blowouts on his race car trailer so he unhooked and took the two wheels to get new tires. When he returned the car and enclosed trailer were gone. Please be on the lookout for these items; They are like family members to him. Here is a copy of his message from Rennist.com -

Please be on the lookout for my black 914/6 race car and white enclosed trailer. These were stolen in southern California from the shoulder of I 15 near Norco southbound side last night after two tires blew out during the transit home from Willow Springs.
Description: Black 914/6 conversion with Sheridan body (Ultimate 914). Vin number: 4752922908. 3.4L six, Weber 46's. Engine number 64C3872.
The trailer is a white Calen with unique features: double door left side, elevated ramps for car to facilitate exit of car within trailer by opening car door.
Trailer California license plate number: 4BO9640
Pictures follow. Owned and raced this car for 20 years - an old friend

This is terrible news. I posted internally to our cars and porche mailing lists here at QCOM and I hope for a positive outcome to the situation.

That really sucks, sorry to hear. Its a long shot but perhaps post to Craigslist looking for information with a reward. Also social media.. Instagram / Facebook and get the word out. Perhaps someone driving by saw something.

Try reaching out to @temeculatuesdays , @localcarscene and @carscoffeendonutssd on Instagram to see if they would be willing to make a post about it. That will reach a lot of local people.

Social media was hit hard yesterday. 1333 people reached in 20 hours on FB alone.
Good call on the other car clubs, I will pass along.

Steve,
When this was stolen the trailer was missing two wheels! How hard would it be to tow a fully loaded trailer missing two wheels? It couldn't have gone very far and you would think that would attract some attention. Maybe it's worth checking local towing services to see if any were asked to help. Alternatively, whoever stole it must need the two wheels. Maybe checking with sources for wheels in that area may turn something up depending on how unique/special they are.

Just some thoughts,

They had wheels they installed and then towed it away like any other trailer on the read on a Sunday night. RV places, tow yards, road service companies have all been contacted and CHP has an open case. Eyes for parts is our best hope at this point. Over 1500 reached just from my FB page plus countless other social media outlets.
