I can also vouch for the durability and grip of the Pilot Super Sports for autocross.

My PSSes have 3 days worth of PCA autocross on them (2 under me and 1 under Jack Brennen), setting decent times (maybe 2-3 seconds slower than RE-71Rs) without falling apart.

Is there any such thing as a 201 treadwear tire? I've always seen round numbers in 10s and 20s as "steps" in the UTQG system. The new PS4 from Michelin is a 320 treadwear tire, I believe. If they make it in your size, it will definitely be SS legal. The problem is they will not be cheap in the 19 and 20" sizes for stock wheels on the newer cars. The PSS tires are almost as expensive as the MPSC2 (which are almost 50% more than RE-71R).

For DE, you could consider the Sumitomo HTR Z III, Craig. They are 300 UTQG and come in your sizes, but they aren't the fastest. At $512 per set, if they last more than a weekend, you're ahead of the game compared to Michelin. They're a street tire, but they've gotten OK reviews for track work, as long as you don't want to "win" the DE. ;-)

BTW, it is a well-proven fact that GT3 drivers get no sympathy here, so get used to it.

I was being facetious on 201 TW, just like the new rule :banghead:

I ran the HTR ZIII for AX and track for a short bit as I had a free set. They are above average for the street, pretty good grip and performance
For AX they were Ok, certainly not the fastest tires, but Ok Same on the track. They will get a little greasy when they get really hot, but no where as bad at hankook V-12's. For a lower cost AX tire if you are not looking for the podium, they are probably a pretty good chouice

For those that have AX'd with PSS, how was the tire wear? On my stock 986, RE-71's take a beating at the Q

Here are mine, front and rear, with the equivalent of 3 autocross days (2 me, 1 Jack). The worst of it is outer front shoulder wear.
