May 15 AX: The day we had vs the day we could have had

Postby Karen Garcia Raines on Mon May 16, 2016 1:38 pm

Thanks to all for your patience while the Timing Team wrestled with the timing system. Sara and I assisted where we could. Robert was stuck in bike race traffic. And Herb moved a step closer to sainthood. Few would have criticized Herb if he thrown the laptop in the path of the corner working truck. :banghead: :banghead:

How’d the system get fixed after the second or third total reboot? Either we witnessed an exorcism or a faith healing—W.T. isn’t sharing his secrets.

The thing I’m not sure many realized is we had a flyover from a swarm of bees during all this. They buzzed Mark’ C’s head, went over the trailer (not through, whew) and kept on their merry way.

Yup, the day we had was way better than the day we could have had.

See you in the trailer.

You guys did a great job recovering from a frustrating technical problem that showed up at exactly the wrong time. I was commenting at the time to someone that, while we've had issues with timing during practice runs in the past, it is remarkable how few times we've had a real problem during timed runs.

Kudos to the entire Team for keeping your heads and working through to a successful resolution -- we all still got our 4 runs. Well done!

Yes, I echo Charles' sentiment- well done Timing Team!

Also, two timing-related questions:
- Does anyone know when Sunday's results will be imported into the event database? (http://results.pcasdr.org/pca.php?database=)
- Realizing this probably requires a tremendous amount of work, is it possible to show Class Results/TTOD/BRI information on the live timing page/app?

Thanks,
Randy

Answers:
- When Tom Brown returns from vacation next week (unless we find someone else who knows how to do it before then).
- It's not, but I did just post the best we had which is a full grid of everyone's Timed Runs sorted by class (grab your reading glasses).
