No Zone 8 Autox in SD?

Postby ttweed on Mon Apr 11, 2005 8:56 am

I was just looking at our schedule and the Zone 8 calendar, and I noticed that we are not hosting any Zone 8 autocrosses at Qualcomm this year. Is there a reason for that? It seems to me that in the past we have always had a couple of our local events sanctioned as Zone 8 events, but I don't see that this year. What's the deal?

Thx,
TT

Tom:

As I recall, after we had negociated the dates for the Winter/Spring A-X schedule with the Qualcomm folks, the A-X team contacted Zone 8 about which dates would work for Zone 8 A-X events. They were told there were enough Zone 8 A-X's already, and that none were needed/necessary in San Diego Region for Winter/Spring season.

Gary B., Bob Lemke, have I got that right?

It was just announced that July 10 will be a Zone 8 event. While it was a rainout, the Feb event was a Z8 event too -- but the advertising for the event was not very communicative of that fact.
