1966 911 External and Internal Restoration Recommendations

Postby Classic66 on Wed Sep 28, 2016 10:17 am

Hey Guys, I am a new member to PCA and I was hoping I could get ideas on who is good to use for both interior and exterior restoration. I have a 1966 911 in relatively good shape that I have had for over 30 years. I am not looking for a concours makeover..... I would just like a very good job, with real porsche stuff. My husband and I love driving the car on weekends or for fun outings. Would like to have the restoration done in the North County area if possible. Thank you in advance for any advice given.

Our restored to stock 86 Turbo Look 911 received a complete stock interior from Autos International in Escondido.

Monica, you are in luck as San Diego County, and North County in particular, are very rich in classic car and Porsche resources. TC's Garage in San Marcos, owned by long time PCA members Tom and Bev Gould, is an excellent place to get your authentic Porsche parts. 760-891-8151.

You might want to drop by the Porsche swap meet in Escondido, mentioned in another thread on this forum, and ask around for recommendations for your specific needs. European Motorsports in Vista can take care of your mechanical needs. 760-599-9307.

Both of the above businesses are long time Windblown Witness advertisers too.

Good luck and have fun with your project!

Thanks for all of the information. We are excited to get the project started. We visited Autos International a couple of weeks ago and we were impressed with the organzation. We are still looking for a full exterior restorer. The Escondido Porsche Swap Meet looks like a lot of fun, and we live not to far from the swap meet location. We plan to attend!!! Thanks again for the advise and will keep you updated in the restoration!

These guys may be far over the top for what you want in terms body restoration, but it gives you some one to visit and talk with about your project. They did a tour last year for PCA through their shops and it was really impressive the variety and number of cars, not to mention the quality of their work.
