I presently drive a G35 coupe 105 miles per day, 7 days per week. I'm about 2 weeks away from purchasing a 2005 911 Turbo S but can't seem to get (accurate) feedback on whether this high-performace vehicle would be reliable as a daily driver for those highway miles as my G35 is.

I've owned a 87 Carrera in the past and would like to get back in a Porsche.

Any comments would be appreciated.

Thank you!

The turbo should make a great daily driver. While not quite the miles you put on them, I recently sold a 2000 Boxster S with 50K miles and now have a 2003 996 Targa with 16000 miles. Both were/are daily drivers and performed flawlessly. Miles never hurt Porsches, lack of maintenance is usually the downfall. If you check JD Powers, Porsche usually makes the top 3 rotating with Lexus, Cadillac, Mercedes and Infiniti, so the turbo should be very similar to your G35 as a driver (on the track, there is a BIG difference  )

If you would like to consider a like new 2003 996 Twin Turbo with only 4000 miles, at a vastly lower price than new, I have one I'm going to sell (not advertised yet).

I actually drive my 2002 X50 (same thing as an "S") 140 miles round trip to work...It has been a great car and is totally adequate as a commuter...I have 26,000 miles on mine...However, I did have one bad experience when my fuel pump decided to quit. :x :x This is rare but it happened to me on the freeway and was not very fun. :x :x The X50 is a gas guzzler so you will be filling all the time. Also, the car is so fast, that driving at the speed limit can be frustrating....Lots of tickets are a possibility unless you have absolute control over your foot.
