That track car has served you and your brother well.
In the last 3 years how many track miles have you and your brother put on that winner?

Coming up on 10k track miles
Bad news...torn achilles, I'll be down 4 mos. Dr wanted to do the operation this week. No way, I've got a race in Vegas! Looks like Portland is out. What about a long enduro in the fall? you game, Mike?

I heard some guys from the San Diego Region PCA entered the 4 Hour Tribute to Le Mans race at Fontana?
I heard they won the 944-spec class, making up a 40 second deficit in the last 45 minutes of the race.
Oh, and someone else said they finished 13th overall.
Their names were something like Chris O'Connor and Tim Comeau.
Yeah, something like that............

Hey Jim almost ready, soon as it comes back from the body shop it should be an easy build.

TC congrats to you and Chris on the class win. It is surprising hear 13th overall with all the fast POC starters too. Shades of the classic tortoise and the hare fable. :D

WTG!!! Now...what happened w/ P Dilly??? Was he leading and pulled in on the last lap w/ a mechanical? Or was he just an also ran?

He was leading for the last hour up until about 7 laps to go. I passed him then he repassed me , then I got him again. it was THE most ferocious dog fighting I can remember having!
We had our side view mirrors inside of each others windows!!
I wish somebody had video of our dice that night. It was epic and couldn't have happened if the cars weren't so evenly matched.
Dilly said his car was overheating so he pulled in on the last lap.
The results are up on the POC website.
I was thrilled to win after having driven so hard to catch up and then fight for the lead. But it was even more satisfying to have finished 13th overall in that fast crowd.......
Thanks to my co-driver Chris O'Connor and his extremely helpful wife, Laurie. We also got help for the second year in a row from local member Alan Jackson.
So that's 2 Tribute to Le Mans class wins in a row for CRE, Black Forest, and Liqui-Moly!

Well as long as we are handing out kudos for the Tribute, it should be mentioned that the M.O.M. prepped and supported team of Steve Gerken and Pete Yousko finished 1st in class and an AMAZING 11th overall in an RS America! Also, Chris Benbow and Mark Foley (more MOM product) finished 1st and 2nd in class for the 1.5 hour enduro. Well done, gentlemen!

Thanks, Otto!

You know we really do "grow" a lot of good drivers, don't we?
2 reasons......
1. The frequency and quality of our events and instruction.
2. The High Performance Driving School.
(This morning, I just happen to be wearing my ratty ol' T-shirt from the 1997 school!)

So what are we going to do when the Stadium gets turned into condos and shops?

I still have hopes for some day ressurecting the Holtville track even with the crumbling concrete and non friendly city fathers. Think of a serious track just an hour away....

I recall Burl mentioned a group is trying to build a track on the landfill area north of Kearney Mesa. Seems like a long shot but can you imagine a track that close? Who knows what will happen with all the action/antics/ at city hall.

There's also a group trying to build a track near Lake Elsinore. I'm sure it won't happen, but it sure looks interesting.

What is interesting is the integrated concept with motorsports and other sports in a planned community. It seems like a long shot but what the heck, it's Lake Elsinore not Newport Beach.
