Sonoma Raceway adventure

Postby Greg Phillips on Tue Nov 01, 2016 1:33 pm

Decided to go north and run the track at Sonoma Raceway ( Sears Point/Infineon) with NASA in a GGR run group.
Was a busy weekend at the track with lots of groups finishing their season. Felt somewhat like CFOS but with more diverse cars.
Porsche Racing CLub and the GGR run group were most of the Porsches although there were a few other sprinkled in other groups like Greg Sharp's 944 in the TT group.

It is a beautiful track and lots of fun, I only wished I had more time in the dry. It rained the whole weekend with the morning sessions wet and thankfully the afternoon sessions dry (mostly). :surr:
We ned to get an event at this track soon

Nice snaps Greg, looks like 911 racing is alive and well at Sonoma. 8)
I enjoy the Sonoma area over the Monterey area.
But the Sonoma track seems to have some tight areas that lack any run off.
imho Laguna just has a better flow and rhythm to it.

Yes, they did mention that the track likes to eat cars with the walls, off-camber and blind corners :surr:

Here is video from late Saturday when track mostly dry:
