What class to run in 2017?

Postby jbrennen on Thu Dec 22, 2016 11:15 am

Looking for a good competitive class to run in 2017...

Just wondering who is planning to compete for points in CC10, CC11, or CC12...

It looks like I can run CC10 on RE-71R tires, or CC11 with either R-compound tires or camber increase, or CC12 with both R-compound tires and camber increase. I'll run whatever class looks like the most competitive.

CC11 has been a really fun and competitive class the last few years, with finishes decided by hundreths of a second at times.
If you want to beat - Christopher Riordan - Hassan Zaidi - Martin Reinhardt - Karl Vandershuit - .............. you better bring your "A" game.

Hey Dave - do you only remember the Guys giving you a run for your money in CC11? :banghead: :D

Anyway, Martin and I will be competing in another State in 2017. Had a great time racing with everyone in SD over the years! We'll be back and forth to SD, but the Cayman and Formula Renault are in their new garage. :beerchug:

Between additional points for PSM, +20mm width tires front & back and X73 springs and sway bars I'll be moving up from CC10 to CC11.

Initially I thought I would be in CC12 running on RE-71Rs but got bumped just barely into CC13, so with the new rules I'm back to the drawing board on set up, trying to take advantage of points in this class. I notice Mr. Verlaque is in this class too, and since I've never competed head to head in the same class with him, this will be fun. GT3 versus GT4, so I'm sure if a certain Cayman GTS shod with R compounds turns up and beats us both, it shall be amusing to say the least... :burnout:

Have fun in those upper classes guys. I expect to be banging around in CC08 again with slackers like Rondeau and Grosekemper. :D

My backup car (987R) is out of SS06 (I have no plans to ever buy OEM tires), so I would run in CC11 this year if need be.

After adding a splitter and spoiler, we should be running in CC10. Let's have some fun!
