Just wanted to post a big thank you to Robert and Jack , and all involved for a really great event! Loved the chalk talk at 5:00 from the pro driver ,
sorry his name escapes me. Thanks to Jad for the encouragement and advice. I would thank Mark R. but he nicked my best time by .10
so , theres that... :beerchug:

Thanks to Jad , Steve , Greg , Mark and all for your hospitality and excellent chili!

BTW I was not getting much sleep at the cabin however , I had something hanging over my head all night....
A freakin 'large' picture of Mark R's #1 car with Jad behind him over my bed!! :roflmao:

It was great seeing everyone again.

Congrats to Steve G, Jae , Jad , Mark R. , great times guys! :beerchug:

Dan, It was great to see you out there and we had a lot of fun. It was a really good event and I'm just glad I could be there.

Thanks for letting me know which cabin has that picture. I'm going to start recommending it to my competition.

I let Jad drive the Silver Bullet on Sunday and he didn't have time to get comfortable. He doesn't seem to be as smooth in my car as he does in his. Hmmm.

I guess that's what happens with skinny street times and only your (busy) hands and feet to save you. :roflmao:

Here's the full session video: https://youtu.be/DZojI7hreDM

Here's my fastest timed lap: https://youtu.be/9kIcxjiPlkY

"lightly worn 200 tread wear tire" Those were dead 888's for me, versus nice Bridgestones for you. Yes, I should have been faster, but I did keep it on the track and facing the correct direction the entire session!!!

Thanks for sharing. :burnout:

 I just switched it with the full version so you can see the entire session. You did well considering the tires, temps and the car.

Ok, so maybe there was a bit more fast hand action than I remember... but no where near as much as you. Then again, I was 3-4 seconds slower and you are completely nutz.

Jad, in all the years I've seen you drive...red 944, black 951, silver 996... I can't remember your hands being busier, or your throttle work being so... punctuated. You did a hellofa great job keeping it on the pavement and below 2:11:xx. Not as easy as it looks. And yes, Mark is completely nuts. Safety 3rd!

There' a trick to driving these old 911's isn't there? Next, a querky 911SC with a 3.6L and turbo brakes? Anytime you're ready... :burnout:

I'm not nutz. :banghead: Why won't anyone believe me.

It's a lot of fun to drive like that and even more fun to be able to go fast and keep it (mostly) on the track. It's just funny to see one of the smoothest drivers I know move his hands around and work to keep the car on the track. At least it wasn't the 944S on bald tires at the instructor day.

The most interesting thing to me comparing a side by side video of Mark and I is he consistently turned the wheel about 30 degrees more for each corner, the yellow mark was consistently past 90 degrees versus almost never past 90 for me. Not sure if it was a speed thing, old tires versus new or driving style, but interesting to have two screens open with each of us driving side by side. Maybe put up a video when you where on the 888 Saturday afternoon????

Dan, I will be ready in Chuckwalla in January, will you?

Jad, Here's the session right before you went out. https://youtu.be/oCfpnitTOdw

I'll post some more as I go through them. Some will be more exciting than others.

Jad, you bet! I'm healing quickly, and expect to be ready to rock it in January. Weather permitting, I'm hoping to best my 2:02:09 best lap time. Maybe you can get below a 2:10:XX in my car?

Lets see, I was 3 seconds slower than Mark (when on the same tires), but I will be 8 seconds slower than you. So you are 5 seconds faster than Mark

I think I may need bionic legs as well :beerchug:
